If we recall, Marzal often used the bubble as a symbol for the sound, which is held in an impenetrable membrane for deaf people. As an act of rebellion to this captive sound, the artist uses a balloon full of paint (being the prisoner sound) and burst it on the canvas. In the end, the sound (the color) oods the painter’s zebra-stri- pped reality.

This piece of work, associated with others that recreate the same pattern with other colors, is the fantasy realization of Corazón de sonido. If that heart were to explode, the result would be this image. The color represents the pattern of the explosion: yellow is an electric spark, red is for a gun shot, orange a stone shot and pink for a shot in a fruit. We can feel the presence of danger again. The cochlear implant (this heart) is a delicate device that can break of stop functioning if some precautions are not followed. And these are the dangers Marzal decided to reproduce in this set of paintings.
