Thanks to his cochlear implant, a deaf can hear a lot of things. Nevertheless, hearing water directly can be tricky : the rain, the splash of water in a swimming pool… A deaf person can’t approach water with the connected implant. As a result of this curiosity, Marzal created this set of paintings in which the zebra-stripped pattern takes the shape of a splash. The background color and the shape of the splash obey, in a way, to the artist’s state of mind.
